In less than forty minutes by car, you can easily reach Gallipoli, whose name means “beautiful city.” Before exploring the narrow, paved streets of the historic centre, where you can catch occasional glimpses of the sea, make sure to visit the fish market and mingle with the locals.
Santa Maria di Leuca boasts one of the largest and most fascinating tourist ports in Salento, with 760 mooring places that can accommodate boats up to 40 metres long. The Property
Situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Muro Leccese near Otranto, Masseria Acqua is a charming masseria located in one of the most evocative corners of Southern Italy. Restored to its former glory by architect Federico Pace, the property dates back to the 16th century, and the interior décor is stylishly sleek with a bohemian-chic flair. This exclusive villa can accommodate up to fourteen guests in six bedrooms (four double bedrooms and two triple rooms) spread over two floors.
Surrounded by old stone walls that create an oasis of peace and privacy, the masseria boasts a uniquely-shaped swimming pool and a generous poolside area furnished with sun loungers, inviting guests to sit back and unwind. Offering a tranquil atmosphere, the villa features al fresco dining areas shaded by a pergola. The garden also includes an al fresco lounge area with sofas under another pergola, an outdoor kitchen, and an outdoor shower.
The living areas are vast and bathed in glorious sunshine. The vaulted ceilings are typical of the farmhouses in Puglia, and the large glass windows ensure that almost every room enjoys a room with a view. The dining room features a large table with fine views over the garden. There are two fully-equipped kitchens, and the whole house can easily be divided into four self-contained units if guests prefer some family privacy. Please note that one of the kitchens does not have a fridge.
